A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lady J is an accomplished Lyricist, Poet and Singer with over 10 years of performance and studio experience.
Lady J has performed with Cincinnati’s "The Groove Society", and "Soul Pocket". She has opened for well known acts Howard Hewitt, Bloodstone, Slave, Barrington Henderson (lead singer for the Temptations), Kirk Whalum, Rayse Biggs (Trumpeter for Kem), and “The Saxtress”, Pamela Williams.
As a writer she has penned songs with former Earth, Wind and Fire guitarist, Sheldon Reynolds and original member, Ralph Johnson. She has also written and performed on the recently released Devoted Spirits CD, “The Answer”.
Lady J, along with her band "Shades of J" performs a blend of soulful R&B and Jazz with thought-provoking Spoken Word delivering inspirational messages with a seductive vibe. Her performances have been described from “Unique & Soul Stirring” to a “Quiet Revolution”. She connects with her audience in a pure magical way.
Lady J often performs with a 6-piece band, but is also known for her more intimate acoustic sets with guitar and flute.
"Shades of J", her debut CD, was released in 2007, which earned her a nomination for the 2007 Cincinnati City Beat CEA Award.
